Innovative music creator and educator Nina Ossoff is a multigenre, multiplatinum songwriter who has enjoyed popularity and success for three decades in the domestic and international music markets. Her music has appeared in hit films including “Miss Congeniality,” top television shows like “Hillary Duff” and “Lizzy McGuire,” international sporting event broadcasts such as the NFL Football Playoffs and World Cup Soccer, and on Chart-topping albums, including the #1 International Dance Hit “Reach” and the mega-hit Chris Daughtry recording “Crashed.”
Through her longstanding success in the music industry, Ms. Ossoff has been enabled over a similarly enduring period to bring her unique talent, experience and perspective to her other great professional love, teaching. Over the past twenty years, she has taught music and musical composition to students ranging in ages from pre-school to college, at institutions that include the Home School/Camp Mohawk in White Plains, NY, the National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame, Sleepy Hollow High School (grant program educator), New York University and Montclair State University (guest lecturer), and Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY (guest educator at her alma mater, from which she earned a BA in Music in 1980). She is especially adept at engendering enthusiasm in students for musical composition, encouraging them to use their life and school experience (including classroom learning) to guide their lyrical and musical development.
In addition to her formal teaching experience, Nina has also appeared as a panelist in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville for the Songwriters Guild of America, Women in Music, ASCAP, and the National Academy of Songwriters, as well as at the International Creators’ Conference in Singapore and the International Music Conference MIDEM in Cannes, France, to name just a few of her dozens of educational panel appearances throughout the world. She has also performed as a singer at hundreds of venues throughout the United States.
Nina lives and works in the greater New York City area, with an office and home in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
